Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. ~ Lao Tzu
I believe the human spirit is pure love. Divine love. It is our nature.
My spirit soars when I am able to express love and when I receive it. Being in love inspires me to spread love. Love of family fills my heart and I feel supported and able to do anything!
Love, in any form, lifts the spirit. Love of a good book, a beautiful garden, children singing, or whatever it is for you, can transform even the coldest, darkest day.
One of the most unconditional forms of love we receive, as well as give, is for our pets. According to MayoClinic.org, research has shown time and again that there are positive benefits to having a pet in the home when you're going through a health crisis or dealing with a chronic disease. The positive benefits are true for all age groups, from young children through adults.
Some of the benefits include: decreased level of anxiety and despair, increased feelings of well-being, increased social functioning and increased mental capabilities. In other words, having a pet present can really make a difference in your daily quality of life.
They are a source of comfort and unconditional love. They require nurturing and attention (which takes the focus off of you and on to them for a while). Having a pet can also give you a sense of safety and security. When your spirit needs a lift, a lick in the face can be just the ticket!
Don’t forget… love yourself first! Then you have an endless source to share the love!!
