As I am writing this blog, I am taking a very close look at my habits and beliefs. I always try to walk my talk; otherwise why on earth would you read what I have to say?
I found the video that follows and it moved me. I have at least a dozen or more family members and friends who have children, husbands or other friends currently in active duty in our military. I find it extremely easy to be in gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
I just identified a challenge that I hadn’t really considered - our government. When was the last time you heard or read something positive? How do we find gratitude for a broken system? I am grateful that my Mom receives her social security payment on time every month so she is able to put food on her table and gas in her car. I am grateful that I have the privilege to vote to create change. I am grateful that there are some well intended, honest people working hard to make our government work for us.
Perhaps if we all focus on what is working instead of what isn’t, we can begin to make the changes so desperately needed right now.
Be grateful you have the opportunity to vote next week.
