Close your eyes and think of one thing you are grateful for. It could be the breath that you just took that sustains your life, it could be your cat or dog, it could be your warm comfortable bed or it could be the fact that you are able to wiggle your toes. Whatever it is, really feel what the simple act of being grateful does to your body. Do your shoulders soften, does your breath deepen or can you feel your heart expand when you say thank you? There is no room for negativity in your body or your thoughts when you are in gratitude.
I had a health challenge that kept me from walking for almost a full year and left me unable to feel my feet for years after that. Now, I could have gone into complete victim mode – why me? Instead I chose to stay in gratitude. Wonderful people showed up to help me and my family! I could wear really cute high heals and they didn’t hurt my feet! If I stubbed my toe, I couldn’t feel it! Then when my body started to heal and I could feel my toes when I stubbed them, I would shout, “I’m so grateful I can feel that!” even though it hurt.
The choice is yours. Gratitude attracts positive outcomes and feels good!
