  • Stressed? Notice if you are holding your breath. Did you know that when you concentrate intensely your muscles tend to constrict your body’s entire breathing mechanisms? When you diminish your oxygen intake your brain gets sluggish making it harder to focus. Distracted? Racing thoughts? Breathe! It’s free, simple to do and very effective in quieting your mind. Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Inhale through your nose. Feel the cool air coming in. Then feel the slightly warmer air as you exhale, again through your nose. Cool air in, warm air out. Cool air in, warm air out. When your head gets noisy and busy, bring your awareness back to your breath. Cool air in, warm air out. Cool air in, warm air out. Cool air in, warm air out…
